Four esg Apprentices were recently shortlisted for British Barber of the Year – a prestigious national competition attracting the best of the best young talent who are doing great things in this dynamic industry.
Following a recent inspection by Ofsted, esg – the employment and skills group – is proud to announce it has achieved an overall Ofsted Grade 2 (Good) rating from their inspectors. This is a great result for the organisation which was praised for its good teaching, learner support, safeguarding and strong management and leadership.

National accountancy firm Roslyn’s Accountants has taken on six young apprentices in business administration roles at its Sheffield head office, supported by training providers esg. Operating across the country, Roslyn’s specialises in providing accounting services to the hospitality industry, including pubs, restaurants and golf clubs.
Sunderland-based employment and skills provider, esg. – has been working with local employer, ‘Kidz Clubz’ in Cleadon for the past couple of years, providing recruitment and training services to support young people become childcare apprentices. But behind one particular employee success is a very human story of tragedy and hope.

esg got fired up last Friday when thirty employees from across the company did Fire Marshal training at Head Office. This was a half day course and included classroom teaching delivered by an ex-fire service officer and practical demonstrations with fire extinguishers with a local fire safety company.
Kevin Voyse is an esg Enrolment Officer and trainee barber, which means when he’s not learning how to shave and groom, he is enrolling new learners onto their courses, supporting them as they start their training towards industry recognised vocational qualifications (e.g. NVQ).

Two weeks ago members of Team esg. ran in the Great Yorkshire Run. Last weekend saw fourteen more competing in three separate charity sporting event, raising over £500 for local good causes including Blue Bell Wood Children’s Hospice and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Add this to the amount raised through the esg. Bakeathon in March for Bluebell Wood and the charity total this year is £1864.00.
